The RainTrust Foundation works alongside rainforest inhabitants, organizations, scientists, and eco-conscious politicians to develop the best possible conservation and development solutions.

Providing this critical assistance to remote forest inhabitants is challenging due to the low levels of formal education, lack of infrastructure, and difficulty in attracting qualified teachers. Nevertheless, rural inhabitants possess very advanced levels of ecological knowledge that cannot be overlooked. The RainTrust Foundation actively incorporates and builds upon this local knowledge, using participatory methods to identify the community's needs and for project planning, implementation, and evaluation.

The Foundation will also provide the essential logistical support to help share this learning among rainforest inhabitants. By building on local knowledge and experiences, as well as teaching rainforest people what they consider valuable, the RainTrust Foundation is developing ideal initiatives that they will be eager to support.
